HintmeshBot

The fetcher behind the Hintmesh AI recommendation check.

What it does

HintmeshBot fetches pages only when someone runs a check on hintmesh.com. For each check it reads:

• the homepage of the site being checked (plus its pricing page for the full report), to understand what the product does;
• up to a few public pages that ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini cited in their answers, to see which products those pages mention.

That’s at most a handful of requests per site per check. It doesn’t crawl your site, follow links, submit forms, log in, or change anything. A site checked in the last 24 hours shows the existing result instead of being fetched again.

HintmeshBot/0.1 (+https://hintmesh.com/bot)

Requests come from Cloudflare’s network.

robots.txt

HintmeshBot reads robots.txt before every page it fetches and obeys the rules for HintmeshBot if you have them, otherwise the * rules. To block it entirely:

User-agent: HintmeshBot
Disallow: /

Blocking HintmeshBot doesn’t stop AI assistants from citing your pages; it only means Hintmesh can’t read them to report what they say.
